Set within the peaceful hamlet of Steep Marsh, Taylors Copse Cabin offers a luxurious lodge retreat surrounded by the distinctive woodland of the area. This Hampshire Hangers holiday cottage provides a calming, cosy base for couples and solo travellers who want to slow down and enjoy the beauty of this remarkable corner of the South Downs.

The interiors of this refined log cabin have been thoughtfully arranged to feel both stylish and deeply comfortable. Natural materials, warm tones and soft textures create a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step through the door. The open‑plan design centres around a contemporary wood burning stove, with large windows drawing your gaze out to the trees and filling the space with shifting dappled light.

The serene sage kitchen is excellently equipped for relaxed self‑catering, whether you’re preparing an energising breakfast or settling down for a romantic evening in. The bedroom features a generous king‑size bed with views over the paddocks, while the modern bathroom includes a deep bath with overhead shower, designed for unhurried unwinding after a day exploring the Hangers with your beloved (and beloved dog).

Outside, the cabin’s garden offers a patio with table and chairs, a BBQ and natural lawn, a pretty spot to enjoy the sounds of the surrounding woodland. Start your morning with coffee and birdsong, share an al fresco supper beneath the trees, or pop a bottle of bubbles as the sunset paints the sky.

With walking trails on the doorstep, country pubs nearby, and Petersfield’s independent shops and cafés just a short drive away, this Hampshire Hangers holiday cottage is perfectly placed for quiet retreat and relaxed adventure. Whether you’re seeking a romantic escape or a restorative break, Taylors Copse Cabin offers a memorable stay in an enchanting South Downs landscape. Local area

Steep Marsh is a sleepy hamlet in the Hampshire countryside, but just a couple of miles from the town centre of Petersfield. Dating back to at least the 12th Century, Petersfield provides an abundance of high street and independent shops, restaurants, pubs and supermarkets along with a mainline train station. For a truly charming and authentic English real ale pub experience, try The Harrow in Steep and The Pub With No Name in Priors Dean.

Taylors Copse Cabin sits on the edge of the Ashford Hangers, a National Nature Reserve and part of the wider Hampshire Hangers, deep in the heart of the South Downs National Park. It is an ideal location for a holiday cottage in Hampshire: within 10 miles you can also reach National Trust Uppark House, Queen Elizabeth Country Park, the Meon Valley Trail, and the fascinating Butser Ancient Farm and Hollycombe Steam In The Country.

A little further afield but still within easy reach are Portsmouth with its Historic Dockyard, Spinnaker Tower and Gunwharf Quays, Midhurst, Petworth, Chichester and the stunning sandy beaches and harbours around West Wittering, Bosham and Hayling Island.
